Casserole Program
A group that helps put together casseroles six times a year for St. Patrick’s Center.
Giving Tree
During Advent, our parish collects gifts for families in need. A committee of helpers makes ornaments for the tree and distributes gifts nearby, wherever there is need.
Greeting Cards to the Homebound
An opportunity to let our senior parishioners know that someone is thinking of them and praying for them.
Peter & Paul Men’s Shelter
Volunteers who help give out food and other necessities twice a month to the gentlemen in need at the shelter located at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish.
Prayer Chain
Volunteers who pray for the needs of parishioners and their families. Participants are notified of requests by phone. Seniors and homebound are encouraged to join our prayer chain.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This ministry reaches out to those in need of comfort and support. A knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. When the shawl is completed, it is given a blessing by the parish priest. Please call the Rectory if you or someone you know would benefit from this ministry.
Respect Life Apostolate – Pro-Life
Helps restore respect for human life in our society from conception to natural death. This group coordinates parish pro-life activities with diocesan, state and national programs. Meetings are held as needed.
South Grand Senior Ministry
Staff from six different parishes who serve their South St. Louis parishes. Our collaborative efforts allow for parishioners to build community with members of neighboring parishes. We provide a holistic approach through Spiritual, mental, physical and social engagement. We bring the presence of Jesus to our elders through care-giving, health education and promotion, exercise opportunities, community building, outings, socialization and prayerful opportunities. Our Transportation Ministry has been very active and helpful to our parishioners. We provide in-home assessments to see what services we may provide for our homebound. Most importantly we provide our presence to those in need. Any questions concerning services or if you are interested in volunteering, contact Debbie Gartner at 314-481-9385.
Stephen Ministers
These volunteers are formed according to the guidelines of Stephen Ministries for service to the community. This organization draws its inspiration from one of the first deacons of the Church called to assist those in need for someone to listen and confidentially accompany them through life’s trials.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
Serves anyone in need within our parish boundaries with food or financial assistance on utility bills. Supported by generosity of parishioners with monthly donation and food drives. Meetings are on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
Table of Plenty Program
Volunteers who provide dinners for members of the Parish who are ill, homebound or recently home from the hospital.
Visitors to the Sick
Those who want to support and befriend parishioners confined to their homes, in hospitals, or nursing homes. Those who are Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion may also bring them the Holy Eucharist.
